AORAKI MOUNT COOK
LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

Aoraki Mount Cook is a special place to many, and holds some of the most incredible New Zealand landscape scenery this country has to offer. I have been fortunate enough to spend many moments with this impressive mountain, and most of them have been accompanied with stunning photography conditions along with special memories that I'll keep for a lifetime. Enjoy my journey as a New Zealand Landscape Photographer through Mt Cook .. if you are interested in prints or purchasing images please visit my print store or contact me. If you'd like to read my top 5 places to visit in Mt Cook, feel free to check out my blog post.

Before my first trip to the South Island solely for photography back in 2015 .. I had never seen Aoraki Mount Cook in person. I had seen incredible Mount Cook photography online and in books which absolutely took my breath away but nothing really prepared my for seeing it with my own eyes.

Aoraki Mount Cook is New Zealand's tallest mountain and is surrounded by incredible glaciers, glacial lakes and forms part of the Southern Alps. It is one of the most unique scenes in New Zealand Landscape Photography and is an absolute bucketlist location for anyone who loves the mountains.

I was incredibly lucky on my first trip to Aoraki Mount Cook solely to capture Mount Cook photography. Often times the mountain can be shrouded in cloud and can remain unseen for days! My first visit I saw the mountain in all its glory and I was able to capture the perfect Mount Cook sunset. The sky was beautiful and the light hitting the face of Mount Cook was an absolute dream.

Since that Mount Cook photography trip back in 2015 I have returned many times to the area. I've encountered many more Mount Cook sunsets, Mount Cook sunrises, walked the Hooker Valley track approximately 11 times, photographed a Tasman Lake sunrise many times over, shot astrophotography over the mountains, hiked the Sealy Tarns and Mueller Hut, had perfect Lake Pukaki Reflections and I still have much more I want to photograph. In Spring Time experience the New Zealand Lupins on the roadside with Aoraki Mount Cook in the background.

There are so many amazing Mount Cook Photo Spots it's always so exciting visit and then share this love of Mount Cook photography with others.

I hope by sharing these NZ images of Mount Cook it might inspire you to come and explore Mount Cook National Park and New Zealand Landscape Photography for yourself.
